An intuitive white-label eCommerce platform targeted at large-scale grocers. The platform features easy-to-execute personalization, content-related ads, and quick integration with the existing eCommerce infrastructure.

Design Process

The initial design was personalized to fit Yeinot Bitan, a national supermarket chain. We wanted the skin to be adaptable and personalizable by different retailers.

Following an intensive user survey and market research, we decided to overhaul the site’s structure, focusing primarily on category navigation. The old layout was horizontal, overpowering users’ scanning ability and creating visual overload. Our solution was to create a vertical side menu, with each sub-department opening up as a large menu.

Ui Concept

The site’s graphic language characterization was dictated by two main factors:

  1. Creating an easily modifiable skin that can be adapted to different clients;

  2. Adapting the first skin to Yeinot Bitan’s graphic language.

The new graphic language fits Yeinot Bitan’s new branch design – approachable and simple with a boutique vibe. The illustrations are playful and rustic, with iconography from the world of supermarket retail. The template has two main colors, allowing each client to change it according to their brand’s colors; the same goes for the illustrations.

The Bumper

Due to the visual repetition of the long, vertical scroll, we decided to incorporate bumpers to break the monotony of the grid and keep users interested. The bumper’s contents change according to the products around it – a recipe bumper, for example, must include the items around it in order to generate user value.

Challenge

UX.UI , Responsive Web Design  |  year: 2016

I was in charge of graphic concepts – detailed design and UX solutions, working as part of a team alongside the product manager and developers.

Working with SelfPoint exposed me to work under pressure and to intensive work processes, finding creative UX solutions, and collaboration with development teams and the product manager, which allowed me to study the business end of the project.

With all grocer eCommerce sites looking the same, SelfPoint wanted to extend their offering and provide clients with customizable website templates that would allow them to differentiate themselves and stand out in a saturated market.
