Designing an unexpected, fun and easy insurance purchasing experience for Bituach Yashir, a leading insurance firm in Israel.
Design Process
Our concept focused on key goals set by the client, with emphasis on user profile and the pain points, all of which we deduced from our research. The first goal was to increase sales percentage of apartment insurance. The design took into consideration these main points:
My
Role
UX.UI | year: 2018
I was part of a two-person team in charge of UX design, and spearheaded the graphic concept by personally designing graphics and overseeing an animator and an illustrator.
The
Brief
UX/UI for a project tender
We were asked to present a short process, emphasizing our high capabilities in research, analysis, characterization and design in the world of insurance. The process took four days to complete and included visual design and animation. We presented a design concept case study depicting the process of purchasing apartment insurance via mobile.
Bottom line
The project revolved around creating and presenting a groundbreaking user experience, in order to win a tender for managing all of Bituach Yashir’s digital assets. I spent four intensive days cracking the brief, then presented the prototype to the insurance company’s executive management team. Although they chose to move forward with a different studio, the feedback we got was fantastic. Two years later, Oman Studio is one of Bituach Yashir’s vendors.

Choosing from several insurance packages
We assumed that the potential user would first compare between the packages, each with its unique benefits. These packages express transparency on the one hand, and variety and versatility on the other. This selection process provides the user with a sense of control by creating a personalized insurance package.

Each package has a fixed price which changes according to the user’s personal needs, thereby justifying the final rate.

Shortening and breaking down the process
We assumed that the user would want a short and simple process. For that reason, we reduced typing demands to a minimum and divided the process into short and simple questions. The price would adjust according to the user’s answers as they progress.
Strengthening the brand
Because we wanted to relate to the brand’s values and style, I used its colors and mascots.
I chose a simple, flat style to connect between the brand’s ‘real world’ media (ads and billboards) and the digital product.
The mockup was complemented by breezy animation intervals that fit with the brand’s theme – humorous and down-to earth.
