Design Process
LANDA set itself an unprecedented challenge – an end-to-end makeover of the global commercial printing process, by creating a technology that converts offset printing to digital printing, generating greater precision and revenue.
Beyond the technological solution, LANDA founder Benny Landa’s vision was to create a new experience for the printing press worker. Landa envisioned a digital workspace where every piece of information concerning the printing process is visible to the employee on three 40 inch screens that let them control each and every step of the complex process in action.

My role was to design screens based on these new requirements and the approved graphic language. It was important to preserve the existing graphic language while still designing new screens and developing modern features. I worked with the client-end project managers, developers, and designers.
The
Brief
Reimagining a control interface for typesetters, enabling them to see the process in its entirety and raise issues. The concept was focused on creating a holistic, end-to-end printing press experience.
The challenge
The printing press is a complex system with a multitude of processes, and the new screens had to fit the complexity of the experience. I was asked to design new screens according to a newly-designed UI/UX concept. I had to find a way to innovate while still display all of the necessary features that operators were used to.
Bottom line
This was one of my first projects at Oman. It exposed e to complex work processes, and I was asked to designs screens according t a preexisting graphic language. It was a challenging and valuable work that taught me much in the way of finding creative solutions within the confines of an existing system.
The process included designing all designated screens and ensure that they all match in size and graphics, and create additional screens that maintain said graphic language.
