A new travel insurance purchasing app that’s intuitive and user friendly.
My
Role
UX.UI , Web and Mobile Concept design | year: 2020
I was in charge of designing the graphic concept of the travel insurance purchasing process, managing and designing the app’s screens. I worked with the marketing manager, product managers and developers.
The
Brief
We were asked to design a quick and simple process for purchasing travel insurance, while adhering to the brand’s fresh, digital style.
The challenge
Sticking to the brand’s style and sticking out in the oversaturated world of insurance companies.

Design Process
I took part in the process from the screen design stage, conducting market research and studying the commercial need. Our goal was to create a simple process that generated positive attitudes towards the brand.

01
Designing a character
We created a character to accompany the user throughout the process, in order to make it a lighter, more positive experience for the user. The chosen image was a luggage, directly linked to the content sphere of the app.

02
Choose your destination
The process starts with choosing the travel destination, each location appearing on a different background. Users can fill in their destination manually.

03
Flight details
A simple, intuitive component

04
Select passengers
Passenger selection is done in one of two ways:

1. If the user had previously purchased an insurance (detected via a short validation process), passengers from previous trips can be added automatically, negating the need to manually fill in their details.

2. If the user had not previously purchased insurance, this is where they would fill in passenger details.

05
Medical questionnaire
In order to provide a personalized policy and insure specific medical conditions, the user must fill in a medical questionnaire. The questionnaire is interactive – for every answer, the app will provide a follow up response, similar to a chat component.

06
Medical coverage
Following the medical questionnaire, the user is offered the coverage that fits their medical status. If no specific recommendations were found, the user can move on to another screen and select other coverage options, such as luggage or cancellation insurance. With each added insurance, the total sum appearing at the bottom of the screen will be adjusted accordingly
